Warren Meerdink Obituary
Skip was born 30 June 1933 in Muscatine, IA and stayed until his high school graduation. Upon graduating, he immediately joined the USAF and faithfully served for 23 years, retiring on 1 February 1975. After leaving military life, he was a flight instructor and pilot for Flight Safety and a private pilot until 1991.
Skip was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in October 1974. Upon retirement, he served full-time in the Orlando, FL temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His service in the temple spanned from the day it opened on 9 October 1994 until it closed for renovations on 30 June 2024.
Skip is survived by his wife, Mary Meerdink, brother, Bill Meerdink, sister, Judy Simmons, 3 sons (Steve Meerdink, Chris Meerdink and Carey Meerdink) and 3 daughters (Jill Hopkins, Jody Meerdink and Kimberly Merrill) and 9 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by Earl (father) and Grace Meerdink (mother), Barbara Brown (sister), Jay Meerdink (brother), Mike Meerdink (brother) and John Meerdink (brother).
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for Advent Health Hospice.

I had the honor and privilege of knowing and serving with Skip in the Temple since 2009. We gravitated toward each other being fellow Air Force vererans and Aircraft enthusiasts. Skip always had a kind word for me and took me under his wing as I served with him. He is an example to me of a loving Priesthood holder who teaches by example. We had many memorable experiences in the Temple when the Spirit guided us to bless the lives of others. Skip, you are loved and missed brother. You are now home and have a fulness of joy. Rest easy.

It was a joy to know and work with Skip in the temple. He accepted any assignment and served with his heart and soul. He was a great example to all who served with him. His testimony of Jesus Christ and his love for Him was evidenced in his kind and supportive words as he served Him. Skip will be greatly missed but he will be an incredible asset to building Heavenly Father´s kingdom forever.
