Warren Skare Obituary
Warren S. Skare, 85, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Eventide on 8th, Moorhead, MN. Warren was born March 26, 1940, in Norman County, MN, to Sivert and Tillie (Gilbertson) Skare. He served in the armed forces from 1962 – 1964 and on September 30, 1967, he married Gloria Jean Anderson in Audubon, MN. Together they made their home in Dilworth before settling in Moorhead in 1975. Warren continued his education and graduated from MN State Community and Technical College in 1977, as a Diesel Mechanic. Over the years, he worked on single and twin-engine aircraft, worked for Allis-Chalmers Corporation, Burlington Northern, and later for Moorhead State University Moorhead in maintenance from 1981-2010 until retirement. He was a very loving, devoted, and patient husband and father. Warren loved to tell jokes, play pranks, and scare the living daylights out of people. He especially enjoyed hanging out with the guys at happy hour and their weekly men’s breakfast, as well as sharing coffee and cookies with all of the Village Green neighbors. Warren will be dearly missed.
Warren is survived by his daughters, Sara (Jeff) Kosel of Plymouth, MN, Angie (Eric) Flesberg of Harwood, ND, and Katie Skare of Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Jacob Skare of Moorhead, Sofie Kosel of Minneapolis, Gabe Kosel of Plymouth, Anna Flesberg of Grand Forks, Ben Flesberg of Grand Forks, Gavin Flesberg of Harwood, Gracie Gomke of Fargo, and Carter Skare of Fargo; as well as his brother, Wally (Cheryl) Skare.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; parents, Sivert and Tillie; and sister, Fern Skare (Steen) Moen.
Visitation: Saturday, September 6, from 12:00 - 1:00 PM, in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
Funeral: Saturday, September 6, at 1:00 PM, in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
