He was a member of Saint Luke Methodist Church and had a passion for fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pugh S. and Vera Tidwell; brother, Pugh Stewart Tidwell; sisters, Saundra Faye Stack, Carolyn "Jitter" Johnson, and Jean Burkett.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Tidwell; sister, Bobbie Gibson; son, Mike (Lisa) Tidwell; daughter, Laurie (Darran) Johnson; grandsons, Douglas (Victoria) Tidwell and Reid (Lucy) Tidwell; granddaughters, Nicole (Scott) Walsh and Mary Johnson; great-grandchildren, Madison Walsh, Adeline Tidwell, Jack Tidwell, Cille Tidwell and Clara Tidwell.
