"Wash" William Laughter of Huntsville, Arkansas, passed away July 2, 2023, at the age of 76. He was born May 9, 1947, in Nail, Arkansas to Clyde and Edith Laughter.
Wash and his wife of over 57 years, Orvis Laughter, raised four children together. He was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. Wash especially loved his grandchildren. Wash enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was resourceful, artistic, and creative; a master wood and metal worker. Creating numerous wood and metal figures and tools by hand. He often included morel mushrooms, butterflies
or flowers on his creations. He also enjoyed following Arkansas Razorback sports.
Wash is preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Edith Laughter; brothers Fred Laughter, and Mark Laughter, and sister Mary Morrell. He is survived by his wife Orvis Laughter of the home; son Delano (Susan) Laughter of Fayetteville, Arkansas; daughter Iris (Charles) Martin of Bella Vista, Arkansas; son Aaron (Holly) Laughter of Lowell, Arkansas; daughter Anna (Corwin) Stanhope of Bella Vista, Arkansas.
Grandchildren Shayne Laughter, Ethan Laughter, Allison Martin, Victoria Martin, Sam Laughter, and Landon Laughter. Great granddaughter Nyxlee Lane Laughter. Step-grandchildren Carson Smith and Sydney Smith.
Visitation is planned for 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2023, and Funeral Services will be Friday, July 7, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Brashears Funeral Home with ministers Raymond White and Justin Harris officiating. Interment will immediately follow services at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Nail, Arkansas. Special Honorary Pallbearers are his granddaughters Allison Martin and Victoria Martin. Pallbearers are grandsons Shayne Laughter, Ethan Laughter, Sam Laughter, Landon Laughter, and double nephews Fred Laughter, James Laughter, and John Laughter. Honorary Pallbearers are Allen Davis, Dean Davis, Dennis Davis, James Davis, Tommy Davis, Carol Ober, John Murrell, K Roy Murrell, and Brandon Walker. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.
