Wayne Hisel

Wayne Hisel, 82, of the late Ollie and Sarah Hisel, passed away on Thursday January 19, 2023. Wayne was born on February 10th, 1940 in Lexington, KY, and spent his life in Nicholasville. He was an avid farmer in Nicholasville for much of his life before retiring to work for the Kentucky Blood Center transporting blood to save lives all over the state. He was very proud to be helping others live a better and longer life. Wayne was also a member of East Hickman Baptist Church in Lexington where he was a Deacon. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Martha; daughter, Heather (Tim) McKune; grandchildren, Hunter (Kierstin), and Betsy (Joseph); sister, Betsy (Ted) Moss; as well as many friends and loved ones. Visitation will be held from 10:30AM-12:30PM on Monday January 23rd, 2023 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home Harrodsburg Road with funeral service to immediately follow at 12:30pm. Burial will take place at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to East Hickman Baptist Church in Wayne's honor.
