Wayne Stewart Jones, aged 61 of Plain City, departed The Grand of Dublin and went to his heavenly home on April 21st, after a long battle with Cancer. He was born to Edith (Stewart) Jones and Dedger Jones on February 27, 1962. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Robin.
Wayne is survived by wife Tamara (Tammy Hunt) Jones, stepson Brian Hinebaugh, and grandson Braxton Hinebaugh. Also survived by his dear cousin Alice Shehane of Nashville, TN, mother-in-law Betty Hunt, brothers-in-law Ron Hunt (Janet Doss) and Robert (Joyce) Hunt, and sister-in-law Teri (Mike) Pastor, numerous nephews and nieces, and numerous dear friends including; Steve Keil, Scott Walton, Greg Forsee, Dick Rau, Steve Garand, and Amy & Tom Cole.
He was raised in Lewis Center, Ohio on the family farm and worked for his father's construction business. Wayne was a 1980 Graduate of the Columbus Academy. He also earned diplomas from The Ohio State University and Franklin University, where his studies were concentrated on Welding Engineering and Agriculture. He earned a living by investing and trading in the stock market. Wayne moved to Plain City in 2011 after spending a number of months renovating a bank into a disability friendly home. This was a labor of love and source of great pride. After moving in he decided he wanted to share his new home with Tammy, whom he met in 2004 and married December 30, 2011.
He loved to go shooting with friends at the local gun ranges. He loved to read and could talk about pretty much any topic, but especially loved to talk politics, history, coins and guns. But, Wayne's favorite pastime was playing with his grandson, Braxton, especially throwing the nerf football. Wayne would beam with pride every time he climbed up into his lap or hugged him. Wayne lived his life to make others happy. He loved making his pecan cookies every year as gifts for his family and friends and was also known for sending Collin Street Bakery fruitcakes to those that enjoyed it. Wayne was humorous and loved to make people laugh, and he did so to the very end.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 1-6 p.m. at the Jerome Township Hall 9777 Industrial Parkway, Plain City, Ohio. A short service will be held at 3 p.m. Children are welcome. There is a playground and fishing pond.

I remember Wayne very well from the Columbus Academy and I am sorry that I did not see that he had passed until after the memorial. Wishing gift of peace for his family and friends.
