Paul Craig Fillinger

Paul Craig Fillinger, age 77, died at his home on Saturday, October 4, 2025. He was born September 19, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio to the late, Buell and Martha Fillinger.

Paul is survived by his wife, Patricia Fillinger; daughter, Christine Barclay; granddaughter, Lauren Barclay; sister, Sharon (Chuck) Stockhausen; sister-in-law, Gail Fillinger, sister-in-law, Paula (Richard) Schuh.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Keith Fillinger; sister and brother-in-law; Susan and Paul Fjelsted.

Paul was a graduate of Marion Franklin High School, class of 1966, and graduated from Franklin University. He served in the United States Army as an MP before working 30+ years with Big Bear stores.

Paul's hobbies included fishing, playing basketball, and spending time with his beloved granddaughter. His love of fishing included fly-fishing and deep-sea fishing, which he traveled to many places to do. He also loved his Ohio State Buckeyes.

Paul would often be found working in the yard as it was his favorite thing to do. He loved to swing on his patio swing especially if family was there to keep him company.

Paul was a devoted and loyal husband, father, and grandfather.

He and Pat were married for 53 years. His family describes him as "one of the good ones" one of the kindest people you would ever meet. His family would like to thank all his friends and family that visited during his fight. Their presence always made him smile.

Paul's family would like to thank all his caregivers at Capital City Hospice. They would also like to thank Tom and Judy Walter for their weekly letters he read and enjoyed.
