Wayne Donald Keyworth, age 76, of Peck, passed into heaven, Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at United Hospice Home in Marlette.
He was born at home July 17, 1948, son of the late Donald and Janette (Beck) Keyworth.
Even though the family farms backed up to each other, Wayne and Loretta didn't have their first date until the day Loretta graduated from college in 1970. They were married on June 19, 1971, married for a month shy of 54 years.
Wayne was a born and bred farmer. He was raised on the family farm and after getting married, continued to dairy farm until selling the farm in 1991. After selling the farm, he worked at a farm store and then grounds crew for a golf course until his retirement.
He loved to be outside and busy. He was a quiet man but had a huge heart, always willing to lend a hand when needed. He had a fun sense of humor and loved to tease. Wayne loved his children and grandchildren, there were many fun camping trips and summers spent by the pond and bucket rides in the tractor. The grandchildren were blessed to have their grandparents attend many events and performances.
Wayne is survived by his wife Loretta; son, Aaron (Kristina); daughter, Kari (Steve) Walters; 11 grandchildren: Madison, Sarah (Jasen), Jay, Jasper, Lucas, Brooklynn, Delilah, and Willow Keyworth, Robbyn, Elijah, and Lily Walters; sister Darlene Gadzinski, brother Marv (Valerie) Keyworth; brothers-in-law, Lou (Nancy) Tenniswood, Marv (Camilla) Michels; sisters-in-law, Janice Fitch, and Evelyn (Ed) Maley; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.,
He was preceded in death by his parents; in laws, Clint and Marion Tenniswood, Ruth and Charles Martyn, Elaine Michels, and Harold Fitch; and sister, Dianne and Glindel Young.
Memorial Services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, May 28 at Pomeroy Funeral Home, Croswell. Rev. Jeff Volpe will officiate.
Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice or Croswell Wesleyan Church.
