Wayne Kotzur was born and raised in The Heights of
Houston, Texas, where he built the foundation of a life defined by hard work, generosity, and love for family and friends. In his later years, he made his home in
Fulshear, Texas, where he continued to enjoy the people and pastimes that meant the most to him.
Wayne graduated from Waltrip High School in 1976. On August 22, 1987, he was united in holy matrimony with his wife, Patricia at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, beginning a marriage grounded in faith, devotion, and enduring love. Their life together was a testament to commitment and partnership.
Wayne found great joy in the gifts of God's creation. He cherished time hunting at the ranch in Rocksprings, Texas, boating on Lake Travis, and traveling, always grateful for the moments spent outdoors and with loved ones. He loved sports, especially watching football and proudly supporting the Houston Texans and Texas A&M Aggies, as well as cheering on the Houston Astros.
He also delighted in life's simple pleasures, especially sharing good food and good company. His favorites included chicken and dumplings, Mexican food, omelets, and a good slice of carrot cake - meals that often became moments of laughter and connection.
Wayne will be lovingly remembered for his witty sense of humor, strong work ethic, and his generous, loving, and caring heart. He lived his faith through kindness, quiet service, and a willingness to always be there for others. His life reflected compassion, steadiness, and a deep love for family and friends.
