Wayne Donald Mokma, age 64 of Alto passed away June 9, 2023. Wayne was born April 13, 1959 in Casper, Wyoming to Carl and Emily (Dipp) Mokma. Wayne was a 1977 graduate of Thornapple Kellogg High School. He was the proud owner of Mokma Excavating for the past 25 years a business he was extremely dedicated to. Wayne will be remembered for his love of his family, cars/Harleys, his business/equipment, music, and all forms of racing. Wayne leaves behind the one always in his heart, Jullette Mokma; daughters: Kelsey Jo Mokma, Presley Rae (Adam) Willms; son, Keenan Wayne (Leah) Mokma; grandchildren: Joseph, Trace, Ezra, Miyara, Takoda; brother, John Mokma; sister, Donna Swanson; brother-in-law, Todd (Christie) Hulst; sister-in-law, Nicki (Jeff) DeVries; Wayne and Sallie Hulst; many extended family and friends. Preceded in death by his son, Trenton R. Mokma and parents. Wayne family will receive friends on Friday, June 16, 2023 at the Beeler-Gores Funeral Home (914 W Main St, Middleville, MI 49333) from 1:00-3:00 PM where his funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM. Burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Following the service Wayne's family invites you to join them to celebrate his life at 7849 N Noffke Dr, Caledonia, MI 49316. I have known Wayne since high school, we were more like brothers than friends. We had plans to grill later this summer and I will always regret not being able to talk to him face to face one last time. He always talked about his family and when they would be getting together, he was truly committed to his family and to his work the man did not know the meaning of relaxation. He was and always will be a very close friend and I will miss him dearly with that being said I want to say my condolences to his family he is and always will be a person I looked up to for his total commitment in his family and his life no matter how hard things seemed.

I knew Wayne Mokma for over thirty years.Wayne was one of the hardest working ,most honest people I ever met.He fought a long hard battle with this illiness.God Bless him,
