Wayne Mullen

Wayne Mullen of Oklahoma City passed away on December 14, 2025 at the age of 57.
He was born on August 12, 1968 in Jackson, MS to Robert Wayne Mullen and Maryann
Hertwich Mullen.
Wayne graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1986. He greatly admired Coach Billy
Avalon, a gruff coach who had a love for the English language. During high school
Wayne enjoyed working at the Jackson Library. He also taught himself computer code
at an early age.
He later pursued his Bachelors degree from Tulane University in New Orleans. Wayne
received a double major in English and Cognition in 1991. During college he worked at
Royal Blend, a gourmet coffee shop.
After graduation Wayne remained in New Orleans working at Monahan's Printing
Company. He had some great friends and roommates during that time.
Wayne then moved to Houston and worked for many years at Data Corp as a software
developer. He was very successful and proud of his career achievements.
Some of his hobbies included reading, writing, and taking care of his cats. He was an
amateur photographer. Wayne enjoyed visiting and photographing national parks
throughout the United States. He also visited the Mayan temple in Mexico.
Wayne is survived by his mother Maryann Dhawan and his sister Teresia Mullen who
reside in Florida.
