Wayne Skarberg Sr.

Wayne Skarberg, 76, of Darien, CT died at Stamford Hospital on February 3, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Wayne was born at St. Joseph Hospital, Stamford, CT on August 12, 1949 to William and Frances Skarberg. Wayne was a graduate of Stamford High School. After graduation, he worked at the White Tower where he met his wife of 50 years. He then transitioned to Mohawk Motors and worked as a mechanic. He then shifted to the State of CT for 10 years. He then transitioned to the City of Stamford for 25 years. He worked as a heavy equipment operator before retiring. He was a true historian and staple of Stamford and Springdale.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Dale Hannan Skarberg and his son, Wayne Jr. Wayne was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Kevin.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 11th from 4pm to 7pm at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Prayer Service will be held at 7pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
