Wayne R. Taylor, 76, husband of Marilyn (Viola) Taylor passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Wayne was born on November 6, 1948, in Bristol, CT. He was the son of the late Rollin Taylor and Irene (Govotski) Taylor. He earned a Bachelor of Science from General Motors Institute and a Master of Science in Industrial Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and served in the US Air Force Reserves from 1971-1977. He had a long and successful career in manufacturing management, retiring as Vice President/General Manager from MH Rhodes in South Windsor, CT.
He was an avid NASCAR fan who followed the sport closely, sharing his love of racing with friends and family. Equally passionate about technology, he possessed a remarkable intellect and an innate talent for understanding and rebuilding computers, as well as a wide variety of other things.
Wayne was the beloved husband of 56 years, building a beautiful life together with his loving wife, Marilyn. He was a devoted father to Melinda Garland and her husband Tim, and Kristin Seymour and her husband Mark, and a cherished grandfather to Sophia and Audrey Garland, and Aidan and Jillian Seymour. He is survived by his sister, Cynthia Worhunsky and her husband Stephen, his sister-in-law, Kathleen Wright, brother-in-law, John Viola and late sister-in-law, Melanie Viola. He leaves behind an extended family of aunts, an uncle, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Details regarding a celebration of life gathering will be shared at a later time. At the request of the family, Wayne will be laid to rest privately in the Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor. Memorial donations may be made to Hartford Healthcare at https://hartfordhealthcare.org/donate for the benefit of the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center.
