Wayne Edwin "Bruzz" Tedrow was born on July 1, 1944, in Scottland County, MO, to Roy and Helen (Fisher) Tedrow. He graduated from Fox Valley High School with the Class of 1963. Bruzz was united in marriage to Shirley Thomas on October 12, 1963, at the Cantril Christian Church.
Bruzz was a dedicated employee of the Dexter Company, Fairfield, IA and held many positions until his retirement after 31 years of service. In 1995 he bought his first truck and started his own business, Tedrow Trucking. Bruzz had an adventuresome spirit. During the summers of his high school years he traveled with the Rock River Rides Carnival, of Rock Island, IL. Bruzz helped with setting up and tearing down the rides and running the ferris wheel. The owners of the carnival became his second family and took him in as their own.
Bruzz never knew a stranger, loved a good joke, enjoyed being a member of several coffee clubs, was an avid gun collector, loved playing cards and spent the last 14 years wintering in Texas with Shirley. He was a member of the Cantril Christian Church, church board president, active member of the Milton Christian Church, served over 20 years on the Cantril City Council, was a member of the Cantril Grass Roots, current member of Masonic Lodge #10 in Keosauqua, and a lifelong Cantril resident.
Bruzz was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Helen Tedrow; grandmother, Willa Jamison, and his grandparents, Lester and Sina Fisher, and Bert and Elizabeth Tedrow.
His memory will be cherished by his wife of 60 years, Shirley; his two children, Justina (Chuck) Courtright of Pharr, TX and Bradley (Allison) Tedrow of Cantril, IA; five grandchildren, Sara (Jason) Courtright-Birchfield of Columbus, OH, John (Holli) Courtright of Columbus, OH, Gabe (Hannah) Tedrow of Nevada, IA, and Erin and Brant Tedrow of Cantril, IA; two great grandchildren, Caitlin and Emily Courtright and his special aunt, Marcia McLeLand of Danville, IA.
