Raymond Earl Tedrow, age 70, passed away peacefully in his home on December 15, 2025 after a short but hard fought battle with cancer. Graveside services will be held on Monday December 22, 2025 at 11:00 am in Megargel Cemetery with Scotte Clark Officiating.
He was born on November 6, 1955 in Olney Texas to the late B.W. (Dub) Tedrow Jr. and Helen (Pendergrass) Tedrow. He married the love of his life Debbie Lynn Blair on February 20, 1976 in Megargel Texas in the house that they lived in and shared for the next 49 years.
Raymond worked for Archer County for 28 years as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator from June 1975 until he retired in 2003. He also worked many side jobs over the years to make sure his family was always taken care of. Those jobs included harvesting for Ben Buerger, doing ranch hand work with Bill Brown, and driving trucks for Red Livingston. He also worked for McCarsons feed and then Berend Brothers during retirement because sitting around the house was just not something he could do. He was an avid gun collector especially of Ruger. He was a lifetime member of the Texas State Rifle Association, a member of the NRA and the NRA/ILA. He also served as fire chief for many years on the Megargel Volunteer Fire Department. As well as he served on the City Council and School board for Megargel. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Megargel Texas where he was baptized.
Raymond loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and just spending time up at the family farm shooting and sighting in his guns. He loved the Texas Rangers baseball team and was also an avid collector of coins that he had started collecting with his grandpa.
Most importantly he was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He leaves behind his wife of 49 years Debbie Tedrow of Megargel TX, Son Jeremy Tedrow and wife Jordon of Megargel TX, Daughter Jessica Gleghorn and Husband Joey of Archer City TX. And 7 grandchildren- Jocelyn, Madelyn, Brayden, Raygen, Zaidon, Benson (Moose), and Orson and 2 Step Grandchildren Cheyanna and Jacksyn Gleghorn. One Nephew Brad McEwen and Wife Judy of Electra, TX. And many other nieces and nephews, cousins and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his father B.W. Tedrow Jr. Mother Helen (Pendergrass) Tedrow, Sister Barbara Jackson
