Son of Herbert Ernst Hugo Zander and Evelyn Pauline Frieda (Mangels) Zander. He married Linda Sue (Cheshire) Zander on August 8, 1978. Wayne is a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran and was employed at the Gerdau Steel Plant in Monroe, Michigan for 35 years before retiring.
When relaxing, Wayne enjoyed woodworking and riding his motorcycle. With his wife Linda, they enjoyed the "Snowbird" life traveling in their 5th wheeler but was always the happiest with his children and grandchildren.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved and faithful wife, Linda Zander.
Surviving are his daughters, Sandra (Brian) Belko, Shelly (Roman) Rimmer and son, Levi (Katy) Zander; grandchildren, Logan, Ally, Mason, Troy, Caitlin, Trent and Lily; great grandchildren, Everly and Xavier; sisters, Linda Smithwick and husband Jeffery of DeWitt, Michigan and Gail Harrison and husband Bill of Petersburg, Michigan and furriest of them all, canine companion "Buddy"
Visitation was held at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman Temperance, Michigan. Burial was held at Bedford Memorial Gardens in Temperance, Michigan.
