Wayne H. Zaricor

Wayne Hubert Zaricor, 92, of Churchton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully September 10, 2022, at his home At the mature age of 92, he still lived independently and remained active until the past year, He was preceded in death by his wife, Irma, to whom he was married 48 years; and 2 daughters Cynthia "Cindy" Connell and Meredith Warne. Those left to cherish his memory are 2 daughters Bethany Elgin Davis (Jeff) of Toone, TN and Lila Metcalf (Tom) of Oak Ridge, TN, and one son Wayne Douglas "Doug" Zaricor (Christie) of Dyersburg, TN. Wayne and Irma raised 5 children and were blessed with 8 grandchildren who in turn blessed them with 7 great grandchildren.Kevin Elgin (April),Elise and Emma of Beech Bluff, TN; Bart Elgin of Coeur D Alene, ID; Dr Meredith Metcalf of New York City, NY; Richard Metcalf *Lynnsey), Keyeson of Oak Ridge, TN; Toni Jones (Parker) Brycen, Keaton, Jake; Madison Dowdy *Clayton, Piper of Collierville, TN, Delanee Zaricor of Dyersburg, TN, Jameson Zaricor of Dyersburg, TN)
Mr. Zaricor was born October 1, 1929, in Montgomery, IL He attended school in Aurora, IL, college at UTM and graduated from Bethel College. He received his Master Degree from Memphis State. He started his teaching/coaching/principal career at Yorkville, then Newbern and Lake County. From Ridgely, he moved his family to Florida where he taught and coached 5 years before returning to Newbern as Dyer County High School principal where he remained 22 years. After retiring, he never stopped working as he continued farming and landlord duties. In his free time, Mr Zaricor enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as auto mechanics. There will be graveside services for family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
