Webster J. Henderson, Sr., 89, of Kingston, NY, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023 at Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston, NY. He was born on March 6, 1934 in Orange, Virginia. Webster graduated Kingston High School in the Class of 1955. While in high school he was an outstanding Track and Field Athlete, competing in many different events, especially sprints.
Webster proudly served in the US Army 82nd Airborne Division. After his honorable discharge, he worked for IBM in Kingston for many years until his retirement. After retirement he drove a bus for The ARC of Ulster-Greene for several years. For many years Webster was a coach for Little League at the Metropolitan Knothole League in Kingston and he also coached Pop Warner Football.
Webster leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 63 years, Joan Henderson of Kingston, NY; his loving children, LaNette Henderson-Jackson and her husband Brady of Albany, NY and Eric Henderson of Kingston, NY; his last remaining sibling, Eugene Henderson, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son, Webster J. Henderson, Jr., one daughter, LaVonne Jean Henderson and his mother, Bessie Jarvis.
Arrangements entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 AM. The home going celebration will begin immediately following visitation at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Wiltwyck Rural Cemetery, Kingston, NY.
