Weldon Halladay Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ozark Funeral Homes - Anderson on Jan. 2, 2026.
Weldon Grant Halladay, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 58 on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in the comfort of his home in Goodman, Missouri, after years of failing health. He entered this life on January 12, 1967, in Kansas City, Missouri, the eldest of two children born to the late Harry Emmit and Hazel Neomi (Allen) Halladay. Weldon's life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, his love for the open road, and his deep-rooted faith.

Raised in Overland Park, Kansas, Weldon was a graduate of Shawnee Mission North High School, class of 1986. His passion for learning and his commitment to his faith led him to Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he furthered his education. On October 22, 1994, Weldon married his beloved wife, Jane Epple, and together they welcomed two beautiful children into the world, Weldon Grant Halladay, II and Grace Gianna Halladay. The family made their home in Edwardsville, Kansas, and later in Louisburg, Kansas, before finally settling in Goodman, Missouri, in 2011.

For three decades, Weldon was the epitome of the American dream as a self-employed long-haul trucker. His work took him across the vast highways of the country, but no matter how far he traveled, his heart remained firmly at home with his family. Weldon's love for vehicles extended beyond his profession. He took great joy in collecting model trucks and was an avid enthusiast of CB radios, a hobby that connected him with a community of friends who shared his interests.

Above all, Weldon was a family man. His wife and children were his top priority, and he instilled in them the values of love, integrity, and perseverance. His sister, Jackie Outler, and her husband, Patrick, of Goodman, Missouri, also held a special place in his life. Weldon's presence was a source of strength and comfort to his family and all who knew him.

Memorial services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2026 at Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri with Pastors Brad & Misti Helton officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Freedom House Missions at 21296 Juniper Lane, Goodman, Missouri 64843.
