Welima Jones, 80, passed away Friday, August 15, 2025.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
In lieu of flowers her memory may be honored with a gift to the Borger Animal Shelter, 1300 W 3rd St, Borger, Texas, 79007.
Welima was born February 16, 1945, in Seminole, Oklahoma to William Audie Sullivan Jones and Ruby Aline Wilson Jones. She married Cooper Jones on July 20, 2001. Welima enjoyed gambling (slots and cards), working crossword puzzles, playing video games, and bowling. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Audie and Ruby Jones; husband, Cooper Jones; grandson, James II; brother, Duane Jones.
Survivors include children, Lynnette Spradling and husband Mike of Borger, Tina Fleetwood and husband Steve of Lubbock, John Moose and wife Angie of Fritch; stepsons, James Jones and wife Dawna of Papillion, Nebraska, Tracy Jones and wife Sandy of Papillion, Nebraska, George Jones, Jr. and wife Hollie of Chandler, Arizona; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; sisters, Nelda Payne of Stinnett, Phyllis Culwell of Borger; sisters-in-law, Gwen Jones of Moore, Oklahoma, Micki Mann and husband Rex of Mountain Home, Texas; her precious puppies, Bugsy and Gabby; and a host of extended family.
The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to Caprock Nursing Center and BSA Hospice of the Southwest for their love and care of Welima.
