Deacon Wellington Gaitor Sr. was born on Cat Island, Bahamas, to the late Joshua and Annie Gaitor.
He accepted Christ at an early age and devoted his life to his faith as a faithful member of Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Ocala, FL Inc., where he served proudly as a Deacon.
On May 22, 1969, Wellington united in marriage with Vera Mae Waters in Ocala, Florida. Their union flourished for 55 years, creating a legacy of love and family.
Wellington dedicated over 30 years of his professional life to the Coca-Cola Food Division, where his hard work and dedication were evident. Outside of his career, he embraced numerous hobbies, finding joy in fishing, singing, watching western shows, and cherishing quality time with his family.
Deacon Wellington Gaitor Sr. departed this life on November 22, 2024, leaving behind a profound impact on all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joshua and Annie Gaitor; his brother, Leroy Gaitor; his sister, Marlene Pratt; and his daughter, Janice Reed.
Wellington is survived by his devoted wife, Vera Gaitor; his sons, Wellington Gaitor Jr. (Jennifer) and Rudolph Gaitor (Linda); his daughters, JoEller Rhem (Jesse) and Minister Vickie Gaitor; his sister, Marionette Bethel; his son-in-law, Calvin Reed; his special caregiver, Deacon Timmy Curry Sr.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Deacon Wellington Gaitor Sr. will be remembered for his unwavering faith, dedication to family, and the love he shared with those around him.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 1:00 until 6:00pm at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, Fl 34475.
Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10:00am at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church, 612 NW 4th Place. Ocala, Florida, 34475.
