Wendell Edward Lynch, age 78 of Burgaw, passed peacefully Monday April 18, 2022 at New Hanover Reg. Med. Center.
He was born August 17, 1943 in Louisville KY son of the late Hayden Stone and Wilma Lynch Stone. He was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Annette Long Lynch; children, Michael Lynch and Angela Glisson; brother, Donald Stone; grandsons, Brandon Glisson and Jonathan Glisson; and granddaughter, Annette Ward.
Wendell is survived by his daughter, Becky Ward and husband William of Watha; four grandchildren, Morgan Glisson, Bryon Glisson, Christopher Ward, and Allison Ward; two great grandchildren, Hayden and Payton; a brother, Robert Stone of KY; a sister, Agnes Tanner and husband Forest of KY; and many nieces and nephews.
Wendell was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed working on vehicles and watching westerns. He dearly loved his family and loved spending time with them.
The family will receive friends Sunday 6-7:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Monday April 25, 2022 at Harrell's Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Ralph Evens will officiate. Burial will follow at Moores Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
