Wendy Maestas Obituary
Wendy Lynn Maestas, 31 of Vaughn, NM, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
Wendy was born on April 16, 1992 in Las Vegas, NM to Leroy Maestas and Maria Romero. Wendy was raised in Tecolotito, NM. She attended school in Anton Chico, NM and graduated from Moriarty High School in 2011.
Currently, Wendy was living in Vaughn and was a parishioner at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico. Wendy worked at The Clines Corners Store for 10 years and later in customer service at various businesses in Vaughn and in Santa Rosa.
Wendy enjoyed photography, going to concerts and art, however, her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her daughter, Araceli.
Wendy is preceded in death by her grandparents, her father: Leroy Maestas and mother: Maria Romero and uncles: Esteban, Larry and Macedon.
Wendy is survived by her daughter: Araceli Maestas and brother: Jessie Maestas, her uncles: Art Romero, Sr., Felipe Romero and Jose Eufemio Romero, Sr., as well as numerous cousins, uncles, aunts, family and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 1-6PM, with a rosary at 6PM, at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa.
Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 11AM at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, with Father Timothy Meurer officiating the service.
Interment of cremains will follow at Nuestra Señora De Guadalupe Cemetery in Tecolotito, NM with Charlie Romero, Jordan Maestas, Aaron Maestas, Sara Romero, Alley Romero and Sabrina Maestas serving as Urn Bearers.
Honorary Urn Bearers will include: Yvonne Rodarte, Jana Chavez, Joe Romero, Jr., Tiffany Jaramillo, Andy Romero, Phillip Romero, Jason Romero, Shadonna Romero, Anita Romero, Octavio Romero, Sandra Romero, Teresa Marquez, Arturo Romero and the late Alex Romero.
