Wendy Pizzadili Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Torbert Funeral Chapels on Dec. 1, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Wendy Lynn Pizzadili
Obituary for Wendy Lynn Pizzadili, Age 53
Heaven has gained another angel; Wendy Lynn Pizzadili, born February 12th, 1972, and passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, at her home; surrounded by her sister Angela Maria Pizzadili; family; and friends after a lengthy battle with health issues. Wendy' s departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her.
Early Life and Education
Wendy grew up in Felton, Delaware, with her parents Giovan Pietro
"Pete" Pizzadili and Norma Jean Pizzadili, both of whom have passed away. She graduated from Lake Forest High School in Felton, Delaware in 1990, building lifelong friendships that she deeply valued. Wendy earned a Bachelor's degree in General Studies from Wilmington University in 2003. She earned a Master's in Instruction, focusing on Teaching and Learning, from Wilmington University in 2005.
Career and Community Involvement
Wendy took pride in her professional involvement with her family at Pizzadili Delicatessen and Catering, Pizzadili Vineyard and Winery, as well as Pete's concessions at the Delaware State Fair. In the mid-1990s, Wendy worked at MBNA, where she met her lifelong friend, Susan Murray. Her professional journey flourished in the late 1990s when she joined the Delaware Solid Waste Authority.
Wendy committed herself to community service by volunteering as a Religious Education teacher for Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church in Dover, where she taught kindergarten. She also volunteered her time with the Department of Elections.
Personal Strength and Advocacy
A cancer survivor, Wendy started her own team, "Wendy' s Warriors," to raise funds for the Cancer Society, demonstrating her resilience and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
Family and Loved Ones
Wendy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Salvatore and Sabina Pizzadili; her maternal grandparents; Charles, and Christine "Peaches" Farrow; her Uncle Giovanni Antonio "Tony" Pizzadili; as well as her cherished dogs, Enzo and Vina.
She is survived by her cherished sister, Angela "Angie" Maria Pizzadili; Michelle Burgess, whom she considered a sister; Aaron Dickinson, whom she considered a brother (and his family); Aunt Patricia Ann Farrow Schumacher; Uncle Rod Schumacher; cousins Daniel James Silvertor and Eric Christopher Beal; and cousins Francis and Gloria Tribbett (and their family). She is also survived by Hector Ramirez and wife Ana Ramirez (and their family); Joe and "Mamma" Alice Corning (and their family); Thomas and Lynn Houska, who were like parents to Wendy, renaming her ("DQ3"), along with their daughters Kari Glanden Thompson ("DQ1") and Ashlyn Houska Eleazer ("DQ2").
