Werner Hank Fassler Jr., affectionately known as Hank to all his family and friends, passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2025 at the age of 73 in Virginia Beach. Hank was born on December 11, 1951, in Pennsylvania to the late Werner Fassler Sr. and Irene Rifflard. Hank grew up and spent the early parts of his life in Congers and Nanuet, NY and then Fayetteville, NC while serving in the Army. He and his family moved to Virginia Beach from New York in 1986.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Margaret Fassler; his daughter, Brenda Watts, wife of Rick Watts; his son, Troy Fassler, husband of Tara Fassler (both of Virginia Beach); and his grandchildren: Emily Watts, Brandon Watts, Damian Kennedy, Dalton Fassler, and Dillan Fassler. He is also survived by his brother, Mark Fassler; his sister, Irene Kinard and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Hank had a lifelong passion for the automotive industry and devoted much of his life to working as a collision repair technician across multiple body shops and dealerships in both New York and Virginia Beach. In 2005 he and his son, Troy, opened their own repair shop, H&T Collision Center, in Virginia Beach. Hank loved owning and operating H&T and giving back to the community by throwing an annual customer appreciation day barbeque for all to come and enjoy.
In addition to running H&T Collision, Hank also enjoyed building custom cars and hot rods and entering them in local car shows. Hank was also an avid motorcycle enthusiast and especially loved riding his distinctive Rat Fink–inspired Harley-Davidson with friends and family. Many of his friends will fondly remember their times enjoying drinks and stories alike at his favorite local hangout Fran's Ready Room in Virginia Beach.
Hank's legacy of dedication, craftsmanship, and love for family and friends will live on in all who knew him. Hank will be cremated by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home and there will be celebration of life event held at Fran's Ready Room on June 7, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
