Wesley was born on March 15th, 1936, to Reinhold and Edna (Liebelt) Feickert on the family farm south of Martin.
On November 10, 1958, Wesley married Leona (Ganje) Feickert, and together they built a life in Martin for seven years and in Harvey for four years before settling on his parents' farm south of Martin in 1970. They farmed, raised their family, and celebrated 64 years of marriage until Leona's passing in 2022.
For Wesley, the farming lifestyle was a calling that he embraced fully. He loved everything about it- the seasons, the soil, the challenges, and the rewards. He took great pride in the generations who farmed before him and the ones who would follow, often sharing stories about the many years spent working side by side across time.
Known for his unique sense of humor, Wesley had a remarkable ability to bring a laugh to almost anyone at any time. His quick wit, easy smile, and genuine kindness made him a friend to many. You'd often find him driving his pickup around the countryside while taking time to stop and talk to neighbors and friends. Wesley was a man of many hidden talents including free-hand drawing, dancing, singing, and playing the harmonica. He loved to read and was always eager to learn something new.
Wesley is survived by his children, Devery Feickert of Grand Forks, ND, Kim (Steve) Wetherbee of Pollock, SD, and Kelly (Mary) Feickert of
Martin, ND; six grandchildren, Janna (Jarrod) Wolf, Brittany Feickert, Zachary Feickert, Cortney (Steven) Ficken, Amber (James) Ritterman, and Westen (Alissa) Feickert of Martin; eight great-grandchildren along with many extended family members and friends.
He is further survived by his sisters: Ethel Wallen of Coon Rapids, MN; Carol Warkenthien of Gold Canyon, AZ; and Diane Brose of Deming, NM.
Wesley was preceded in death by his loving wife, Leona; parents, Reinhold and Edna Feickert; his brother, James Feickert; and brothers-in-law, Wade Wallen, Glen Brose, Archie Degenstein, and Del Warkenthien.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were touched by his stories, his humor, and his steady, comforting presence. His legacy lives on in the land he worked, the laughter he shared, and the generations who continue to follow in his footsteps.
