Wesley "Ray" Woody, 56, of Dayton, TN passed away on October 2, 2025.
Ray had a deep love for animals and found joy in caring for them throughout his life. He cherished time with his family, and nothing brought him greater happiness than being with his granddaughter, Emersyn, who was the light of his life.
Known for his kind and gentle heart, Ray touched many lives with his warmth and generosity. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Woody.
Survivors include his daughters, Jenna Cox and Jessica Douglas; granddaughter, Emersyn Cox; sisters, Cathryn "DeeDee" Sherrill, Nancy Mears, Ann Youther, Angie Waters; brothers, Willis J. Sherrill, Danny Ray Sherrill, Jeffery Scott Sherrill, and Michael Shane Douglas; uncle, Wesley J. Woody; and several nieces, nephews and other loved family members.
The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
