Wevette Neal Stifflemire, 84, was born on May 8th, 1938 in Flora, Mississippi to Earl Neal and Ima Bradford. Wevette graduated high school going on to obtain her bachelor's degree in Nursing. Her nursing career ended while working in the psychiatric unit at Baptist Hospital to take care of her late parents. On her weekends off and in between her many back-and-forth trips to Mississippi you could find her in her yard barefoot working in her flower beds or in her garden. Though she loved being in her yard, there is nothing that she loved more than her family and grandchildren. Being a daughter, sister, mother and Nana was Wevettes greatest accomplishment in life.
Wevette was proceed in death by her parents Earl & Ima Neal, her sister Earline (Sissy) Mitchell and her late husband's Elwood Stifflemire and Chuck Gross and son in law Arthur Jordan. She is survived by her sisters Glenda Neal, Beth Pressley (Johnny) and brother-in-law Gary Mitchell; Daughters Bridget Trumpore (Quentin), Brenda Silcox (Scott Garrett) and Bertina Jordan (Bobby Taber); Grandchildren Jesse Trumpore, Shana Silcox, Samantha Town (Daniel) and Jakob Jordan; Great Grandchildren Kai Trumpore and Deacon Town and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and cherished friends that turned into family.
Beating all the odds and becoming Hospices' longest living patient with Alzheimer's, Wevette fought a long hard battle with her life ending February 22, 2023. Our family would like to give the biggest thanks to Granny Nannies especially Lisa and Covenant Hospice for the amazing care that they have shown through this hard-fought battle. With an even bigger thanks to Tina Jordan for the amazing care that she has shown and everything that she has done throughout the years. Public Visitation will be held Sunday February 26, 2023 from 1-2 PM at Pensacola Memorial Gardens; funeral service immediately following. Our family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, love and support! < Back to Obituaries
