Wilbert Jordan McAdoo Jr.

On Tuesday, June 17, 2025 the Lord in his infinite wisdom sent an angel from Heaven to receive his son, Wilbert Jordan McAdoo, Jr. Wilbert Jr. was born on December 7, 1956 to the late Wilbert Jordan McAdoo, Sr., and Arzelia Holman McAdoo.
At an early age Wilbert attended Efland Cheeks Elementary School, C. W. Stanford Middle School, and graduated from Orange High School. He later attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill earning a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1979.
His legacy of love, service, kindness and his passion to help others will continue to live on in all who were blessed to have known him. During his career, Wilbert worked for JOCCA (Joint Orange Chatham Community Action), and Orange County Government as Housing and Community Development Director and later as Public Works Director.
While working in the local government, he was a member of several professional organizations and was involved in numerous community and civic activities. He was a volunteer with the Western Triangle Advisory Council and was the Chair on the Loan Review Committee at the local Government Federal Credit Union.
After his retirement in 2009; he is still remembered and revered by everyone he has encountered. He will always be remembered for his tenacity, love for his family, giving spirit, infectious smile and his witty (clap back) responses.
He leaves to cherish his memory; daughter Arianna Hinton and son Matthew Hinton. Four sisters; Elvira Mebane (Robert deceased), Brenda Lunsford (Morris), Terry McAdoo, and Sandra McAdoo (Arche). He is also survived by one aunt; Maggie Loftin of Durham, NC, four nieces; D'Jenna McAdoo, Jordyn McAdoo, Lily Crayton and Kaylan Crayton and seven nephews; Terrance McAdoo, Jamal McAdoo, Malcolm Mebane, Jared McAdoo, Carter Young, Jalen Crayton, and Noah Crayton, and a host of relatives and friends.
