Wilbur J. Sheets, 68, of Fleming, OH took his journey home on Tuesday, April 22, at 5:11 pm at Select Specialty Hospital in Newark, OH after fighting a long battle. He was born on January, 12, 1957 to the late Ralph and Wilda Matheny Sheets of Bartlett, OH.
He graduated from Warren High School in 1976 and then became a business owner of WS Trucking and worked as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and hanging out with family and friends.
Wilbur is survived by his wife Ruth of 48 years whom he married on March 5, 1977; his two sons, Billy Sturm (Stephenia Crawford) and Christopher Sheets of Fleming, OH; his daughter Dianne Perine (Jerry) of Lowell, OH; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He came from a large family and is also survived by many brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the BARLOW CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOMES with Willie Hood officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and an hour before the service. A meal will follow the service and family and friends are invited to bring a covered dish to share.
