As we approach a year since we bade "see you later" to Wilbur, I always remember talking with him about anyone in Frankfort and he knew their story and the stories of those families. That he knew everyone fascinated me and still does. He also knew most everything about fixing a car. If I needed some advice, he told me the best people in town and the reasons! Once he started reminiscing about driving cars as a teenager, those stories were mesmerizing! He took a lot of chances as high schooler behind the wheel, but the stories were hilarious! And he did know everyone in town!
I am so thankful that I got to know Wilbur and Shelley, who were the world´s best neighbors. Wilbur taught all of us how to persevere in the face of pain and uncertainty. He fought like a trooper, which I always will admire about him. His sense of humor never left him, especially when he could tell funny stories about people. I used to rag him about walking the descending way down "heartbreak hill." He just said he and Mau walked that direction so it wouldn´t be so hard for Mau to keep up with him! I miss you deeply, my friend, but I look forward to having a grand heavenly reunion! I expect a joyful revival of where we left, listening to your abundant stories! God bless you.

It is so hard to think of Wilbur and Mau , walking together along the streets, and both of them talking at the same time. I sure miss him and always will. He made everyone laugh and feel better, just by stopping and sharing a few words or a long story. We miss you, Wilbur.

We are so stunned to hear this news and saddened by the suddenness of Wilbur's death. We surely will miss seeing him on his walks in the neighbor, with his good friend across the street. We are sorry not to have learned about the arrangements until Saturday night, as we surely would have attended. God bless you, Shelley, and God give Wilbur life without pain and with eternal joy.
