Wilda "Euvon" Foreman, age 88, of Marysville, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025, following complications from a recent surgery.
On August 17, 1937, Euvon was born in Holcomb, West Virginia, the second of eight children of the late John "Reed" Wilson and Lovie Emma (Gardner) Wilson.
In 1956, Euvon moved to the Marysville area, where fate soon intervened. Pete always told the story that she ran down a hill, got a thorn in her foot, and a young gentleman, Myron L. "Pete" Foreman, came to her rescue by pulling it out. From that moment on, the rest was history. Shortly thereafter, the two were married on October 18, 1957, and went on to share 65 loving years together, raising two children: Gerald and Glenda. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2023.
For more than 30 years, Euvon worked as a nurse's aide at Millcrest Nursing Home in Marysville, where she found great joy in caring for the residents.
The matriarch of her family, Euvon's home was always filled with love, laughter, and plenty of food. A gifted cook, she carried on the traditions taught by her mother and became famous among her family for her scratch-made biscuits, bread, noodles, pies, and especially her baked beans, which were requested at every gathering. She was proud to share all of those old time recipes she learned from her mother, passing them down to her daughter, Glenda.
Euvon and Pete tended a large garden each year, growing beautiful flowers and enough vegetables to can and preserve for the winter. In earlier years, they enjoyed many camping and fishing trips around Indian Lake. At home, she delighted in watching hummingbirds at her feeders and deer wandering nearby.
Above all, Euvon treasured her family. Her happiest moments were spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She had an open-door, open-fridge policy, and anyone who entered her home was expected to help themselves to a treat. She loved a good game of euchre, and at Christmastime she spoiled her family with her famous fudge, cookies, and countless other treats.
With a heart of gold, Euvon was one of the most precious and loving people you could ever meet. She had a way of making everyone feel at home, though it was well known-she was not someone to be crossed.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are her two children: Gerald (Julie) Foreman and Glenda (Terry) Stewart, both of Marysville; three grandchildren: Shawn (Joan) Foreman, Tyler (Kelsey Wehrle) Stewart, and Kylie (Kyle) Leiter; 6 great-grandchildren: Elias, Trever, Austin, Maykelin, Jacob and Cameron; 7 great-great grandchildren: Ellie, Blakely, Ryker, Finley, Addie, Spencer, and Dean; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Along with her husband and parents, Euvon was preceded in death by a beloved granddaughter, Amber Cole; four brothers: Roy Wilson, John Eddgle, Delford "Duke" Wilson, and Wendell Wilson; and three sisters: Shirley Mitchell, Mildred "Mick" Crisp-Drumm, and Helen Hoffman.
Her family will greet friends from 11 am to Noon on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the Ingram & Snyder Funeral Home, 975 N. Maple St., Marysville. Services honoring her life will follow there at Noon, with her nephew, Pastor Matt Foreman officiating. Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery in Richwood. On behalf of her family, they would like to encourage everyone attending Euvon's services to dress casually and comfortably.
