Wiley S. Drake Sr.

Wiley S. Drake Sr., 82 years of age, of Buena Park, Ca. passed away on

January 27, 2026. Wiley was born on Nov 23, 1943 to James and Elna

Drake in Magnolia, Ar.

While serving in the US Navy, Wiley met Barbara Julianne Stephens in

Honolulu, Hawaii. Wiley and Barbara were married in 1960 and have 4

children Kimberly, Carla, Jamie, and Wiley Jr.

After the military, Wiley graduated from Biola University and worked in

marketing/sales. He went on to graduate from Southwestern Baptist

Theological Seminar in Texas. He served as Pastor in churches in Arkansas

and Texas. He also served as Pastor of The First Southern Baptist Church

of Buena Park, Ca for over 30 years. Through his ministry, he operated a

homeless ministry and shelter and he remained very involved in his

community.

Wiley became a widower when his wife, Barbara passed in 2010. After

retirement, Wiley moved with his daughter Kimberly to Highland, Ca. In

2024, Wiley moved with her family to Levelland, Texas.

Wiley is survived by his siblings James Alvin, Janet, Kenneth, Barbara, and

Gail. He is also survived by his 4 children Kimberly, Carla, Jamie, and Wiley

Jr. He is blessed with 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren with one

more on the way.

Services will be held at Oasis Church in Levelland, Tx on February 15, 2026

at 4 pm. A second memorial service will be held at The Church on Pearl in

Santa Monica, Ca on Sat March 21, 2026 at 4 pm.
