HIGH POINT - Wiley Douglas Hodges, 88, died Monday, September 22, 2025, at High Point Medical Center.

He was born March 11, 1937, in Surry County and was the son of the late Wiley Edgar Hodges and Mary Magdelene Hutchins Hodges. Wiley began his vocational career in the furniture industry with Burlington Industries and then later retired from Commercial Carving in Thomasville. He was an avid Wake Forest Deacons basketball and football fan and enjoyed bowling, golfing and woodworking.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Margie" Louise Robbins Hodges; daughter, Terry Jane Ford; stepson, Steve Lane; two sisters, Doris Childress, Juanita Otero; and a brother, Gene Hodges.

Wiley is survived by daughter, Jo-Del "Jodie" Hodges of High Point; stepson, Tracey Lane (Jamie) of High Point; step-daughter-in-law, Karen Lane of Trinity; eight grandchildren, Dakota Hodges, Hannah Hodges, Loretta Guden (Scott), Chris Hardy, Bradley Hardy, Amanda Ford, Ellie Lane and Aydan Lane; sister, Karen Hutchens of Elkins; brother, Darrell Jester of Boonville; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
