Linda McKenzie departed this life on December 7, 2024. Wilhelmina "Linda" (Chamberlain) McKenzie was born on February 6, 1945, to parents Oswald Chamberlain and Violet (Jones) Bennett. Of their four daughters, Linda was the eldest. Linda grew up in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, and later immigrated to the United States in her early thirties. She settled in Boston, Massachusetts, where she worked as a nanny-a role she found deeply rewarding. Linda eventually moved to Hartford, Connecticut, to join her family. There, she attended vocational school, earning a clerical certificate, and began her career at The Travelers Insurance Company, where she worked for nearly two decades. She later held positions at several other companies, including Mediplex Nursing Home and Pratt & Whitney.
Linda was proud of her relationship with God and her membership in the church. She had a beautiful voice and was always ready with a gospel song. She was sure to make you laugh with one of her corny jokes. She loved her family and friends and was a constant source of support for them. She loved the color red, and you would surely put a smile on her face if you were wearing a red outfit.
Linda was predeceased by her mother, father, and sister, Shirley Petit. Left to carry on her memory are her sisters Nezley (Danny) Stephenson, Cynthia (Terence) Masters, the nieces she helped raise, Donneth Gayle Goffe and Carlene Simpson, 4 more nieces, 5 nephews and a host of cousins, great nieces and great nephews.
Linda will be remembered for her warmth, dedication, and unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of hard work and compassion.

My dear friend Linda:

I have been thinking about you consistently. I haven't been able to get to you soon enough but, was preparing to do so. I thought I better check to see before I make the trip to visit and here you are. My heart is heavy! And to bring more sorrow, you passed on my Birthday. Linda, we had a friendship that followed from Pratt & Whitney...GOOD TIMES!!! I am at ease knowing that you are finally at peace. I will always miss you...

Love,

Cheryl

Rest In Peace My Dear Cousin. I remember when you use to spend time with me in Kingston. I will miss our vacations and outings. I will cherish the memories with you, me, and Neil, Jean back home in Jamaica. You will forever be in my heart.

I met Linda while working at the Credit Union on campus at Pratt & Whitney and then at church
She was well respected and loved by all crossed paths with her
Beautiful inside and out
She was too "cute" and pretty
Even in her wheel chair Linda would threaten to steal my church clothes (an ongoing joke between us)
Rest & peace be onto you my sister in Christ
The trumpet sounds and The angels are waiting to welcome you home as you wear your crown of pearls Amen!
