William David (Will) Bell stepped into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at the Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital with his beloved wife by his side.
He was born on April 14, 1951, in Nashville, KS, the son of Oliver D. Bell and Wilma M. (Austin) Bell. On March 15, 1986, he married the love of his life, Deb (Noftsger) Bell.
He is survived by his wife, Deb; six children, Kristen (Dave) Skiles, Rebekah Bell, Andrew (Abby) Bell, Bethany Bell, Anna (Gabe) Bell-Ventura, and Mary (Christian Noble) Bell; three grandchildren, Ellie, Adelynn, and Isla, with a fourth on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Harold Bell, and sister, Glenda Singer.
In his youth, Will made the decision to place his faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of his sins. He lived out his faith all the years of his life until the end. He loved his wife, his children, and his grandchildren selflessly and always kept them as a priority before his work and other responsibilities. Will loved people and never knew a stranger. He loved to laugh and tease and had a fun sense of humor. Will greatly enjoyed the land and worked as a farmer and rancher most of his life.
Memories from Deb:
Will was a man of prayer. As soon as the alarm went off in the morning (even before my eyes were open) he would ask me, "Do you have any prayer requests?" Then before we got out of bed, he would pray for me and each family member by name, starting with the oldest to the youngest. He was always my number one prayer partner, and praying with him will always be one of my most precious memories of our life together.
Will was a man of God's Word. He would always pray, "Lord, Thank you for Your Word. Thank you that it's true." When I asked him once what his favorite Bible verse was, he said "All of them." He memorized hundreds of verses as a young man and even into the late stages of dementia, he was able to quote Bible verses back to me.
Will was not perfect and he would never want you to think he was. One day we were walking in the country and I was following behind him. I said to him, "I'm following in your footsteps." He said, "Don't follow in my footsteps. I'll fall. Follow Jesus." I believe those are the words he would say to you today. Follow Jesus.
Memorials may be made to The Navigators or Focus on the Family, in care of Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104.
