Willard "Ted" Theodore Brannen Sr. was born on November 29, 1932, in Columbia County, near present-day Lake Butler, Florida, and died on May 18, 2025, in the company of loving family.
He is preceded into the hereafter by his parents, William Theadore Brannen and Martha Ann Henderson, his siblings Mavis, Murlar, Jensen, Veatrice, Estelle, Iretta, Hollis, Bernice, Daisy, Gerlene, and Deloris, as well as his loving wife of 56 years, Addie Pauline Bone, who passed in 2018.
Ted is survived by his children, Mary Lynn (Mark) Dahle, Paula (Peni) Po'uha, Susan (Travis) Bruce, Ted Jr. (Katie) Brannen, and David (Lisa) Orleman, as well as 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Ted honorably served his country in the Army as corporal during the Korean conflict. He worked in many jobs throughout his career. He was a partner in a construction company and general contractor in Columbia, South Carolina at the time of his retirement in 1988.
He served in many capacities as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including as a missionary, stake president, regional representative, and for many years
alongside his wife Pauline in the Atlanta and Orlando Temples, where they served as a Counselor and Assistant to the Matron in the first Orlando Temple Presidency.
He loved to spend time outdoors and found great peace in nature. He often fished with his brother Hollis and his friend and business partner of many years, Gary Fish. His love of gardening was well known among family and friends, and he could often be found in his garden tending to tomatoes, cucumbers, peas, and lima beans.
Throughout his life, Ted believed in the inherent good of all people. He extended his trust to everyone he met, always ready to believe in the best of them. He valued family above all else, and his love was felt by every member of his family.
Graveside Services will be held at the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park at 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah 84065 on Thursday, May 29 at 2 p.m. He will be interred with his beloved wife immediately thereafter.
