William "Billy" Hampton, born on July 29, 1962, in Jacksonville, Florida, journeyed through life with a spirited heart and an unwavering passion for the things he loved. A son, brother, father, and granddad, Billy left us on September 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy that will echo through the hearts of those who knew him.
A proud graduate of Calallen High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, Billy's path was marked by a dedicated career at TNT Crane and Rigging, where he showcased his work ethic and commitment to excellence. More than just a profession, his career formed part of a tapestry intertwined with camaraderie; he cherished the moments winding down after long days with his buddies at O'Briens and Big Sams.
Billy was known for his unwavering loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys and the thrill of Nascar, passions that filled his leisure hours with excitement and joy. He found solace in music, a universal language that resonated with his vibrant spirit. Yet, perhaps his greatest source of pride were the moments spent visiting his beloved daughter Nikki and his delightful grandchildren, Faith and Ezra, in Arkansas. Each visit wrapped them all in the warmth of family love and laughter.
He was also an active member of The Sons of the American Legion Squadron 64 in Heber Springs, Arkansas, a testament to his commitment to service and community. The bonds he formed there mirrored the strength and kinship he fostered throughout his life.
Billy is survived by his devoted mother, Pat Hampton; his loving daughter, Nikki Hampton; and his cherished grandchildren, Faith and Ezra. He also leaves behind his brother, Jimmy Hampton; sister, Linda (Bruce) Nieschwitz; aunt, Marsha Whetstone; aunts Karen Dixon, Karen Hampton, and Maria Hampton; nieces Christy Patrick and Lauren (Chris) Allen; nephew William Nieschwitz; and many cousins, each heart touched by his unique presence.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Hampton, whose memory will forever be cherished.
As friends and family gather to honor Billy's life, visitation will take place at Sawyer-George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas, on September 5, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at the same location from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. These moments of remembrance will allow all who knew him to share in the love, laughter, and stories that painted the portrait of a remarkable man who will be sorely missed but fondly remembered.
