William K. “Bill” Anderson, 79, of Louisville, OH, formerly of Stoneboro, PA, passed away at Cleveland Mercy–Canton, on March 19, 2025, after a brief illness. Bill was born to Paul K. and Lois J. (Perrine) Anderson on October 8, 1945, in Mercer, PA. Bill graduated from Lakeview High School in the Class of 1963 before joining the United States Navy. During his time in the military, Bill served Active Duty during the Vietnam War, earning himself the National Service Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. During his service, Bill proudly served on the USS Maddox, earning a promotion while on board.

Bill married the love of his life, Karen L. Downing, on July 20, 1968. She survives at home.

Bill was of Protestant Faith. Bill served his community as a Stoneboro Volunteer Firefighter. Bill worked in his early years at Westinghouse in Sharon, worked with his father at Paul Anderson’s Floor Covering of Sandy Lake, and retired from Magnetech in Massillon, OH. Bill loved his family and relished in the time he was able to spend with them. He would often take trips to camp in Elk County, sometimes with family, other times just with his canine companion “Shorty”. Bill and “Shorty” would regularly take at least a mile walk per day in recent years. Bill was a man of many talents, especially serving his family and friends as the designated “fixer” of many things.

Bill is survived by his wife, and their children, John (Heidi) Anderson of Grove City, PA; Steve (Leygh-Ann) Anderson of Louisville; and Stacy (Kevin) Owens of Carrollton, OH. Bill is survived by six grandchildren: Jace (Megan) and Paige Anderson; Kenzie and Kayla Owens; and Kayleygh and Morgan Vargo. Bill is survived by two great-grandsons, Kyler and Colton. Bill is also survived by an adopted granddaughter Brianna and her son Tailum. Bill will be fondly missed by his sisters, Joyce (Joel) Fleming and Frances (Dave) Edge, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bill will also be dearly missed by his fur and feather babies, especially “Shorty”.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law, Bill and Rodney.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin St. Stoneboro, PA 16153. Friends and family will be received from 3PM-6PM on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, with a funeral service to follow. Everything will be held at the funeral home.
