In terms of, " Hidden Figures", our dad was one of the first Black rocket engineers for the country.

1924-2025( Aug. 28-101 years )
He has gone home…
We are not sad, he lived an amazing life, …in the final month he was beating his house mates at cards and dancing to Sting!
The movie portrayed only the black female aeronautical engineers in the field in the 1950s, but my dad was the only Black male working in Dallas in the field. He graduated top of the class from Cass Tech., Detroit in 1942 in the dept. of engineering/ aeronautical design.
Drafted in 1943, he was stationed in the South Pacific, returned, hired by Chrysler Missile Plant in 1956.
Henry Louis Gates entered him last year in the African American biography under noted engineers, scientists, medical professionals.
We are very proud of him.
