William Walter “Bill” Bantrup, 88, of Lee’s Summit, passed away on October 18, 2024.
Bill was born on April 21, 1936, in Boonville, MO, to Walter and Florence (Young) Bantrup. After graduating from Saints Peter & Paul High School in Boonville, he attended Rockhurst College, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1958. He then pursued his lifelong career as a stockbroker, first with E.F. Hutton for several years, then with B.C. Christopher for several successful decades, and finally finishing out his career at Moloney Securities.
Bill married Marilyn L. Meisinger on October 14, 1961, and they enjoyed 56 wonderful years together before her passing in 2018. They were longtime parishioners at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lee’s Summit.
Bill is survived by three children: Denise Gates (husband, Michael), Christopher Bantrup, and Gregory Bantrup (wife, Tera); grandchildren: Grant Gates, Amy Zadeh (husband, Matt), Catherine Bolling (husband, Travis), Christopher Gates (wife, Abby), Mary Gates, Danielle Bantrup, Sydney Bantrup, Avery Bantrup, and Madison Nason; great-grandchildren: Corbin, Alice, and Max Zadeh, and Nora Gates; a brother-in-law, Randy Hillis; nephew, Jeffrey Hillis; and numerous awesome relatives and fantastic neighbors at Raintree Lake.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Bantrup in 2009, and his sister, Pamela Hillis in 2015.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26, from 9-10am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Lee’s Summit, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10am. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
