William F. Barrineau (Bill), 89, of Fort Mill, S.C., was welcomed home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 3, 2025.
Bill was born on January 22, 1936, in Andrews, S.C., and spent summers as a young boy on Pawleys Island. He resided in Charlotte for 54 years before moving to Fort Mill in 2022. He was highly respected in the window and glass industry for more than 60 years and recently retired from Charlotte Glass Contractors.
Bill possessed a generous, kind spirit. He loved to laugh and was a friend to many!
Bill loved to watch sports, especially his beloved Clemson Tigers, and was a long-standing IPTAY supporter. Beyond his joy of sports, he lived humbly with Vickie, his wife of 30 years, and loved watching TV and movies. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, friend and believer who committed his life to worship Jesus at Central Church of God in Charlotte. His greatest love was the Lord! He was a man of deep faith, uplifting many people in his daily prayers.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Central Church of God on January 10, 2026, at 1 pm.
Bill leaves behind his loving wife, Vickie, and three children – Patti Barrineau Jackson (Tim) of Conway, S.C.; Trey Barrineau (Jacqui) of Fairfax, Va., and Amanda Bonner (Michael) of Fort Mill, S.C. The three grandchildren left behind to cherish him as “Papa” are Katie Jackson Halford (Craig) of Hampton, Va.; and Bonner Shoe and Bella Holland of Fort Mill, S.C. Additionally, he leaves behind a great-grandchild, Timothy William Halford of Hampton, Va.; and numerous extended family members, coworkers and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his two siblings and his former wife, Patsy McNutt Barrineau.
The family would like to extend its deep appreciation to all those who provided compassionate care, and they request donations in Bill's memory in lieu of flowers. Donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to the organization Tunnel to Towers in his memory.
