MOULTRIE, GA – William Duane Bescher, 89, of Moultrie, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 100 West Boulevard, Moultrie, GA 31768.
Born May 9, 1935, in Rochester, New York, he was the son of the late Edward A. Bescher and Meredith Frost Bescher Campfield. Mr. William was a proud United States Air Force Veteran serving honorably as an Air Force Pilot. He was a God-fearing man who loved the Lord. Mr. William was chosen to serve as a Bishop in two different Latter-Day Saints of Jesus Christ churches. He was a caring husband, father and grandfather that touched the lives of many and will be missed by all.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Elaine Avery.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Alma Nell Smith Bescher; daughters, Kimberly Lynn Platt and husband Alan, Michelle Elaine Fleck and husband Roy, Laurie Ann Brewer and husband Tony; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; along with several extended family members and friends.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
