Moultrie, Georgia – Alma Nell Bescher, 87, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Cobblestone Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 4, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with Bishop Brandon Kout officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service.
Born February 12, 1938, in Hartsfield, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Hardy Lewis Smith and Minnie Holland Smith.
In addition to her, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Duane Bescher; brothers, Bennie Smith, Dorsey Smith and Wayne Smith; and a sister, Edith Smith Dennard.
She was a Dental Assistant and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she was a former President of the Relief Society and served as a Bishop’s wife for many years. She was also a Pink Lady at Colquitt Regional Medical Center volunteering over 1500 hours.
Survivors include her daughters, Kimberly Lynn Platt and husband, Alan, Michelle Elaine Fleck and husband, Roy, and Laurie Ann Brewer and husband, Tony; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
