Bill was born on August 19, 1942 in Denver, Colorado to Albert and Barbara (Jung) Buelow. He grew up in a military family, and lived in many places in the United States and Germany. On December 2, 1967, Bill married the love of his life, Carole Buelow, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lake St. Croix Beach, MN. The loving couple was blessed with two daughters, Annie and Tammy, and the family made their home on a hobby farm in Stillwater, MN.
Bill loved being outdoors and enjoyed biking, walking, cross country skiing, canoeing, and camping but the things he loved the most were music, summer pool parties, playing horseshoes and cold beer. Every party ended with Bill playing his guitar with friends and family singing around the campfire. Bill loved football, and could be found cheering for the Vikings on the weekends.
In retirement, Bill and Carole relocated to Venice, FL and spent hours every day on the beach and outdoors. They loved walking the beaches listening to the waves, along with fishing and hunting for shark teeth with their daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren. Bill and Carole loved visitors and always had a seat and a cold drink ready for a friend.
Bill will remain in the hearts of his daughters, Annie (Pete) Tennant of Cottage Grove, MN, and Tammy (Jerry) McKenzie of Hudson, WI; grandchildren, Missy (Dennis) Dahl, Jason Tennant, Gina Schurhamer (Mike Nielsen), Cody (Abi) Tennant, Mikey Schurhamer; Max McKenzie, Kaitlyn (Konnor) Merchak, and Rachel McKenzie; great-granddaughter, Hazel Dahl; siblings, Joe (Susan) Buelow, John (Chris) Buelow, and many nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carole Buelow; parents, Albert and Barbara Buelow; sister Barbara Daniel; brother Al Buelow; and infant granddaughter, Kristi Schurhamer.
A Celebration of Life and Military Honors will be held at 3pm Friday, December 5th with a visitation from 1-3 pm at O’Connell Funeral Home, Hudson, Wisconsin. A graveside service for both Bill and Carole will be held at 4 pm Friday at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Bayport, Minnesota.
Bill’s daughters would like to thank Boulder Ponds staff and Lifespark hospice program for their loving and dignified care of their father during his long journey.
