Bill wrote the Emmy-nominated screenplay for the 1989 film My Name is Bill W., which was based on the true story of Alcoholics Anonymous founder Bill Wilson. He also wrote the book The Lois Wilson Story: When Love Is Not Enough, which he later adapted into a screenplay for the Hallmark movie When Love Is Not Enough: The Lois Wilson Story, which aired in 2010. Bill passed away peacefully at home on October 1, 2022, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his nine loving children, Judith Anne Makrakis (Thomas), Charlotte Hunt Nodine (James), William G. Bill began his career with the New York Journal-American newspaper and became a featured by-line writer for newspapers, magazines and radio. He married Bernadette Forcina on March 16, 1955. In 1969, the family moved to Rye, NY, and started public relations firm, Borchert-Barrett Associates, in New York City. Bill coached his sons' Little League and Babe Ruth League baseball teams, and his daughters' softball teams. In 1972, Bill became a partner in Artist Entertainment Complex and produced movies including Dog Day Afternoon, Kansas City Bomber, and Serpico. Bill, I coincidentally spoke with our friend Mitchell today and we are both saddened by the loss of you in our lives I will always remember how you would go out of your way to ask how I was doing. Keep the peace and continue to believe as you have taught me.
Sincerely,
Rick Spiegel

To Larry and all the sister and brother Siblings:

I was heartbroken to hear of your Dad's passing. I've known Bill for several years and he has been an important reason why I am alive and sober today. The couple (As mom Bernadette was always with him in then beginning) made my day every Sunday Night in Lordship at the speaker meeting I was privileged to run for many years. I truly loved this man. Thank you sharing your wonderful parents with us and Godspeed to you all. May your parents love and kindness be instilled in us all as we are truly blessed. :)

There are times when someone comes into your life and an alert bell goes off in your head. So it was the first time I met Bill and Bernadette at a St. Mark meeting. They so deeply tuned into our conversation becoming an integral part of it. They heard a story I was relating and suggested it could become a book and they would help. This went on to collaborative meetings which led me to a great appreciation of their souls and the depth of their amazing life journies. As Bernadette's health was failing our project was put aside but I came to understand the meaning of such a deep relationship founded in Faith that Bill continued which I have seen as a reflected image in his beautiful family the few times we met.
May the beautiful sound of the Harp in your heart play forever as he continues to pull on your heart strings.
