A service honoring William Charles Braswell “Tooter,” 86 of Cleburne, Texas, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 22, 2024, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel, with burial to follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will take place from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Jordan Braswell, Justin F. Braswell, Kyle Braswell, Justin A. Braswell, Jared Braswell, Scotty Braswell, Jr., A.J. George, and Jared Persons.
William “Tooter” peacefully passed away at his home on November 14, 2024. He was born on July 30, 1938, in Hill County, Texas. William's life was marked by his devotion to family and his passion for farming. He was united in marriage to Sherri Lynn Horn on November 19, 1999, in Cleburne, sharing 24 fulfilling years together. He is mourned by his family and friends as they remember a man who enjoyed fishing, taking boat rides, joy rides and spending cherished moments with his loved ones. William will be remembered for his warm spirit and the love he shared with those around him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sherri Braswell; his sons, Glenn Braswell and his wife Dede, Steven Braswell and his wife Mary, Ronnie Braswell and his wife Kathy, Jeffrey Braswell and his wife Brenda, and sons, Kyle Magby and Zachary Vantine. William took pride in being a grandfather to Nathan, Whittany, Brittany, Katie, Justin, Kyle, Scotty, Tamara, Justin, Jordan, Breanna, Ashlie, and Amber, as well as a great-grandfather to several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Lee and Malinda Cardelia (Jones) Braswell; his first wife, Dolores Braswell; his brothers, Alvin Braswell, Oris Braswell, and Junior Braswell; along with his granddaughter, Heather, and great-grandson, Jackson. Also, his best friend and companion, R.J., his beloved dog.
