SUMMITVILLE, IN – William E. "Bill" Brown, 91, entered peace and rest on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from Summit Health and Living following a brief illness.
He was born on September 11, 1934, in Elwood to Merle and Edith (Ebert) Brown and resided his entire lifetime on Madison County Road 200 West. He was a graduate of Summitville High School-Class of 1952. He also received training in the Purdue Agricultural Course. He served his country in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957. Bill was a member of Summitville First Christian Church. He was a supporter of the Madison County 4-H programs. He was a fan of the Indiana Pacers, the Indianapolis Colts and NASCAR and enjoyed going to the Indianapolis 500 time trials and race. But most of all, Bill was a caretaker and guardian of the land of the Brown family farm since 1952. He retired from farming in 2017. Since he was 18 years old, Bill practiced the principals of Ecclesiastes which echoed "there is a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which was planted."

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 57 years Leveda (Crouch) Brown in 2016, brother-Morris Brown, nephew-Phillip Brown
Services honoring Bill's life and legacy will take place at 10 am on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in the Owens-Noffze Funeral Home. 1009 West Walnut Street, Summitville with Pastor Nathan Lutterman officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Vinson Memorial Cemetery. The Brown family will receive friends on Monday, from 5 pm to 7 pm in the Owens-Noffze Funeral Home.
