William Budy Obituary
Bill was born to Leo and Mary Budy on December 8, 1960. Bill attended Christ the King elementary and graduated from Washington High School. Bill could do anything he put his mind to and would do absolutely anything for anyone. He spent the last several years working for the Unified Government in the Building and Logistics Department where many friendships were made and he will be missed. Bill was a HUGE humble heart in Alcoholics Anonymous with recently celebrating 12 years of sobriety himself. He was a faithful servant in AA, Alanon & Alateen.
He was adored by any child he came into contact with including his great niece Kilee. His favorite roles were Papa and Uncle Bill. He didn't know a stranger. The man had a heart of gold! Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, working with his hands, enjoying the dirt track or nascar races, playing with his nieces and nephews, spending time with family, and celebrating his favorite holiday, the 4th of July.
Bill is survived by son, Nicholas (Christin); daughter, Deena & most cherished grandson, Ryker. Bill is also survived by sisters: Gina (Rick) DeRossett, Tonganoxie, KS, Mary Jo (Ed) Porter, Port Orchard, WA, Linda (Tom) Reynolds Mission, KS, Debbie (John) Pack, Salina, KS; brothers: Don (Debby) Budy, Tonganoxie, KS, and Patrick (Rachael) Budy, Marysville, KS. He was preceded in death by parents, Leo and Mary Budy; brothers, Tim and baby Leo Budy II; mother of his children Janet Budy; and cherished niece Olivia Pack. Bill leaves many nieces and nephews. Bill also held his AA family near and dear to his heart including special friends Cathy, Gary, and Ted.
Visitation and viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 29th from 5-7pm at Highland Park Funeral Home, 4101 State Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66102.
Memorial mass/funeral services will be on Friday, May 31st at 10am at Christ the King Parish, 3024 N 53rd Street, Kansas City, Kansas, 66104.
Burial to follow mass in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1150 N 38th Street, Kansas City, KS 66102. A luncheon will follow burial at Christ the King Parish.
There will be a bonfire on Friday night to celebrate Bill's life for anyone who wants to attend- address to be announced.
