William "Beep" Burke

William J. Burke, known as "Beep" to all that knew and loved him, passed away comfortably on June 18, 2025 in Pittsfield, MA after battling complications from a past stroke and renal disease while under the care of hospice.
He was born in Pittsfield on May 19, 1961 to loving parents, John "Jack" Burke Sr. and Roberta "Sis" Malloy-Burke, both deceased.
He is survived by his siblings, Michael Burke, David Burke, Joseph Burke, Dennis Burke, Brenda Dermody, Mark Burke, as well their spouses and many nieces and nephews. He is also preceded by his eldest brother John "Jackie" Burke Jr.
Beep attended Taconic High School and became a self-employed expert carpenter. He took so much pride in his lifelong accomplishment of teaching his son, Nicholas Burke, the art, skills, and workmanship in the trade of carpentry. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working along side his nephew, Matty Burke and his two sons, Bobby and Billy, then visiting with Matt's wife Lisa, and Matt's daughters Ari and Grace. In his free time, he enjoyed visiting his long-time friends, always tinkering around while giving "work advice" to the crew at 1st Cut Construction and Berkshire County Auto Repair. He was at his happiest when he was teaching his grandchildren, Mase & Jack, new skills such as carpentry and mechanics, attending car shows, camping, fishing, forging for mushrooms, riding ATVs, exploring nature, and taking Makenna, Carina & Dessy to visit animals at the local farms. His legendary witty banter, "one-liner" dad jokes, and charismatic personality will be greatly missed by his adult children and step-children, Jessica Porter, Jennifer Sumy, Nicholas Burke (Kristina Raftery), Michelle Weed (Israel Chaparro), and preceded by Danielle Weed. Kim Bliss, the family matriarch, notably, once again became attentive and remained by his side for his medical care at the end. Kristina always making sure to keep him "in check" everyday, making his favorite meals while he enjoyed reminiscing about the past with Michelle when she visited.
His legacy and memory will not be forgotten as "Papa Beep" to Dale Burke Jr.; Jordynne Delphia (Ethan Delphia); US Army SPC. Dylan LaCasse (Mya LaCasse); Jaylin LaCasse; Trystin Dunavin; USMC PFC. Justin Borawski; Chalyce Jones; Mason Burke; Jackson Burke; Chase Jones; Makenna Burke; Carina Squires; Deslynn Burke; as well as the family's great-grandchildren, Hayes, Stella, Hazel, and Ellianna.
As per the family's request, there will not be separate calling hours. Services will be held for close family and friends on Saturday June 28, 2025 at 2:15 pm at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
